This document is a good-faith initial draft for the private alpha of You Have to See This. It will be reviewed and revised by counsel before any public commercial launch. Legal entity, business address, and formal contact are marked TBD until finalized.

Information we collect
- Account information: email address, and the password you set (stored hashed).
- Profile information you provide: display name, chosen username, streaming region, country, avatar, timezone, and optional bio.
- Application data you create: movie ratings, notes, watch history, ownership records, lists, and (in later releases) recommendations you send.
- Basic technical information required to operate the service, including request logs needed for security and debugging.
How we use it
- To operate and improve the service.
- To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
- To send transactional messages such as email verification and password reset.
We do not sell your personal information. During the private alpha we do not run product analytics or advertising.
Movie metadata
Movie metadata is sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Streaming-availability data, when introduced, will be provided through JustWatch via TMDB.
Service providers
We rely on infrastructure providers for hosting, database, authentication, and transactional email delivery. Their processing is limited to what is required to operate the service. A complete subprocessor list will be published before public launch.
Your controls
You can edit your profile at any time. Account deletion and data export tooling will be provided prior to public launch. During the alpha, contact us to request removal.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 13, and not intended for users under 16 in jurisdictions that require higher minimums for online services.
Changes
This draft will change. Material changes prior to public launch will be reflected on this page.
